Dainfern College

a community school at the forefront of independent education
College
Dainfern College is an independent, co-educational school that caters for Grade 0 to Grade 12. Situated in Broadacres Drive, just outside the boundaries of Dainfern Golf Estate, the school draws some 75% of its pupils from the nearby gated communities. There is therefore a strong sense of community at the school as students and their families have so much in common.

With safety an ongoing concern in South Africa many families opt for the security of estate living. This applies not only to South African families but to foreign families too as international companies often provide their employees with accommodation in secure estates. Dainfern College therefore continues to attract international and ex-pat families who choose to embrace the South African education system. The mix of nationalities and cultures is wonderful to see and means that Dainfern College certainly lives up to its motto of ‘A World of Education

The ever-increasing nightmare of traffic congestion in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs means the convenience of a top private school close to home cannot be underestimated. The school’s founders, Russell and Stella Upneck, lived in Dainfern Estate with their four children. Tired of the long commute to their children’s private schools they dreamt of a private co-educational school on their doorstep that nonetheless offered a world-class education with first-rate facilities. This dream was realised when Dainfern College opened its doors in 1997.
